If you thought all the dumb controversy over masking that took place during the height of the COVID pandemic was finally behind us, think again. Lawmakers across the country are now considering a ban on wearing masks in public, in a naked bid to crackdown on pro-Palestianian protestors - Masks are going from mandated to criminalized in some states

In the wake of another potential COVID wave, the proposed mask bans raises obvious health concerns, especially for disabled and immunocompromised people, as well as questions around how such a measure would be enforced.

In North Carolina, a mask ban has already been passed by state legislators , but was vetoed, for reasons mostly unrelated to the ban itself, by Democratic Governor Roy Cooper. A Republican legislature is expected to override the veto; last year, per The Associated Press, all 19 of Cooper's vetoes were successfully overturned.

A number of people were particularly bewildered as to how a 35-year-old Donald Trump appointee rated 'Not Qualified' by the American Bar Association (ABA) was able to effectively decide public health policy for much of the nation.

It is CDC's continuing assessment that at this time an order requiring masking in the indoor transportation corridor remains necessary for the public health," the agency said in a Wednesday statement. "CDC will continue to monitor public health conditions to determine whether such an order remains necessary. CDC believes this is a lawful order, well within CDC’s legal authority to protect public health."

Following the CDC statement, Justice immediately filed a notice of appeal.

As experts who study the ways viruses can spread indoors, we believe that air disinfection using germicidal ultraviolet light, or GUV, could have prevented the Gridiron superspreader event. The technology should become the norm for large indoor gatherings where meals are served and masks cannot be worn.

State officials in some states, including Texas, Florida, Oklahoma, Missouri, Arizona and Iowa, have passed laws or used their authority to prevent statewide mask mandates and make mask usage optional.
